“The 1kg powder milk that cost about RM18 about 6 years ago now costs more than RM40,” said a 41-year-old self-employed living in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. “We are poor and we cannot afford to buy milk and have to just resort to sugar for our drinks,” he added.
